The Sweater

by Linda on October 29, 2009

There it was…sitting in the discount bin…tempting me.  Skeins of the most lovely, soft, cashmere yarn in rich, yummy, chocolate and cream colors.  The best part was that it had just been drastically marked down because it was being discontinued.  I picked up a skein and held it to my face.  It was wonderfully soft.  I imagined the sweater I could knit for myself out of this delightful yarn.  I couldn’t resist… so I scooped up every skein that was left,  bought them, took them home and dropped them into my basket of  “projects to do“.

I searched for months for a pattern.  I was looking for something nordic that I could knit with the two colors.  I finally found the perfect pattern.  Trouble was I didn’t have enough yarn to knit the sweater in my size.  I only had enough yarn to knit a child size sweater.

So…our oldest granddaughter Emily is now wearing this new creation.

When she out grows it, she’ll pass it down to the rest of the granddaughters.  This was a really fun and easy sweater to make!  If you’d like the pattern, just e-mail me at linda@davidkoblish.org and I’ll e-mail you a copy of this pattern.  The pattern has directions from child size 7 up to adult XL.

I think it looks really great on Emily and she just loves it!  It’s the perfect outfit to wear on a crisp, fall day

or for sitting by a warm fire, enjoying a hot cup of cocoa, on a snowy, winter evening!

If I ever find any more of this beautiful, cashmere yarn on sale…I just might tackle this sweater again…

for myself!

P.S.  Check out my new card lines…”God’s Creation” and “Camp Cabin” cards at my new “Shadowings” store on zazzle!  You’ll find it all on the side bar of this blog.

Blessings,

Linda
